Who you are contracting with

ToneGuard is provided by ToneGuard LLC. These terms are an agreement between ToneGuard LLC and the organisation whose administrator deploys the service.

What the service is

ToneGuard analyses messages as they arrive in mailboxes an organisation's administrator has enrolled, and adds a warning to the message itself when it finds evidence of manipulation or a dangerous link. Nothing is installed on any device, and individuals do not create accounts.

What the service is not

ToneGuard is a detection aid, not a guarantee. It reports what its enabled checks found and names the checks that did not run; it never certifies a message as safe. No phishing defence catches everything, and a verdict is not a substitute for an organisation's security policies or judgement.

Acceptable use

The service may only be deployed against mailboxes your organisation administers, with the authority to do so. Probing, load-testing, or attempting to extract other tenants' data ends the service for your organisation immediately.

Payment and cancellation

Enterprise coverage is billed per protected mailbox through Stripe. Cancel any time; coverage runs to the end of the paid period and then stops. We may suspend service for non-payment or breach of these terms, and will say so rather than degrade silently.

Data

Handling of message content and signup data is described in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms. Message bodies are never stored; an institution can revoke access unilaterally in its own admin console.

Liability

The service is provided as-is during the pilot programme. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the fees paid for it in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Changes

We will notify the administrative contact of material changes to these terms; the change history is public in this page's repository.
